3748. The Traditional Thanksgiving David Gerrold Garage-Cleaning Charity Auction!
Here's how it works, David Gerrold will load up the car with several boxes of stuff he doesn't want anymore -- or stuff that other people have donated. Books, records, DVDs, tapes, toys, comics, scripts, galley proofs, manuscripts, stuff that piles up like old bones at the back of the dragon's cave. Then sometime on Saturday, the contents of those boxes will be spread out across several tables and David will auction them off until both he and everyone else in the room are emotionally and physically exhausted. The auction is always fun -- you don't have to buy anything. If you don't, we'll just hold you upside down by your ankles and shake the nickels out of your jeans and force you to take something home anyway. Then, David takes the money, cackles like a madman, and gives it to a worthwhile cause. This year it's the Science Fiction Writers of America Emergency Medical Fund. Remember, the more stuff that we clean out of David's garage, the more stuff we can put in yours!

3799. Writing Your Story as a Novel vs. Writing a Screenplay
It sounds easier to craft a 120 page script than a 350 page novel. But each field is equally demanding with a unique skillset, which is why most authors only write novels, while others only screenplays. This panel will discuss the skills necessary to survive and prosper in each field. Important for novelists and screenwriters of all levels.
